Not to be missedLa Sarenne, Europe’s longest black run

La Sarenne, Europe’s longest black run

Every skier would love to be able to boast about having skied down Europe’s longest black run. Hop on the Pic Blanc cable car and head up to 3,330 metres, the highest point in the ski area. Take in the 360° view, strap on your skis, fasten your ski straps, pull down your visor, and off you go on a 16 km descent from the Pic Blanc to the Sarenne Gorges.

An exceptional setting

To set off down the Sarenne run, you’ll first need to take the ski lifts. From Oz 3300, take the Poutran gondola lift, then the DMC2, and finally the Pic Blanc cable car: you’ll find yourself at 3,330 metres, at the top of the ski area, ready to ski down the 16 km of slopes! Before you begin your descent, you can take in the exceptional panoramic views. In clear weather, you can see the resort of Les 2 Alpes, the peaks of Pic Bayle, La Meije, the Aiguilles d’Arves and even Mont Blanc! Legend has it that this summit offers a view of one-fifth of France!

16 km of downhill skiing

Once on the Sarenne run, you can enjoy the descent without having to use a single ski lift! But you can also take the time to ski at higher altitudes by using the Herpie chairlift. The Sarenne black run will take you down to the gorges of the same name. After picking up speed on the descent, you can then ski peacefully alongside the river to the chairlift, and head back up to Alpe d’Huez to reach Oz 3300. For this legendary run, expect a 2,000-metre descent, a 16-kilometre run and a moderate average gradient of 12.5 per cent!

Discover

the ski area!

To make the most of the significant elevation gains, the ski lifts take you up to the Pic Blanc at 3,330 metres or the Dôme des Rousses at 2,800 metres – the starting points for some exceptional ski runs!
