The resort

Nestled at an altitude of 1,350 metres, in the heart of the Alpe d’Huez ski area, Oz has all the charm and authenticity of a family-friendly ‘ski-in, ski-out’ resort. Come and discover its warm, welcoming atmosphere, with its timber- or stone-clad holiday apartments, chalets and pine-lined streets.

Oz-en-Oisans

Village and hamlets

Situated between Belledonne and the Grandes Rousses, Oz-en-Oisans comprises 11 hamlets and a ski resort. The area stretches from 711m to 3,330m above sea level. Eleven hamlets scattered on either side make Oz one of the most extensive municipalities in the Oisans region. Oz Village, Le Roberand, Le Bessey, Sardonne, L’Ile d’Oz, Le Boulangeard, Le Pontonnier, La Beurrière, La Voûte, Le Pré de l’Arche and L’Enversin. These hamlets, with their sometimes rather enigmatic names, harbour many treasures – remnants of the past and architectural features unique to the Oisans region: old barns, wash houses, fountains… Not to mention the 19th-century church in Oz Village with its square bell tower topped by a pyramid.

A ski-in, ski-out resort

In winter, as soon as the snow has blanketed the ground, adults and children weave their way through the heart of the village, between the shops, and arrive on their skis right at the door of their accommodation. A sense of tranquillity and a gentle way of life, just as one imagines a mountain holiday to be…
