Special equipment in winter
From late October to late March, we strongly recommend that you bring your special equipment with you when you visit us.
For safety reasons, as soon as the temperature drops below 7°C, the use of snow tyres is recommended to ensure better grip.
Don’t fancy fitting winter tyres? Make sure you have snow chains at the very least, as they are compulsory on some of our roads. A little tip: put them on top of your suitcases – that way, you won’t need to empty the boot to get them out.
Road closure updates
In winter, weather conditions and snow can affect road conditions and have an impact on the opening of certain mountain passes. Before setting off, check road conditions and pass openings in real time on the Itinisère website!
